               Calculus, Early Transcendentals, by Briggs and Cochran, Addison-Wesley.

Prerequisite:   MAT 270 or equivalent with grade C or higher.
Withdrowal deadline:   April 8, 2011 (in person), April 10 (on line). Complete withdrawal:   May 3, 2011.
Exams:            There will be four regular in class exams: Tests 0-4: 100 points each, 300 total, lowest score dropped;
                         
homework & quizzes (100); and a comprehensive final exam (200). (About 600 points available.)
Grading Policy:
                         A-,A,A+ = 90 - 100%
                         B-,B,B+ = 80 - 89%
                         C,C+ = 70 - 79%
                         D = 60 - 69%
                         E = 0 - 59%

Recitations and Teaching Assistants: You must attend your assign recitation every week. Bring your recitation book with you.
Maple: Recitations will allow the student to improve conceptual understanding in a collaborative work environment. Three of the resitations will effectively use technology as instructional tools to allow the student to explore core concepts. The software of choice will be Maple.

Testing Center: The Mathematics Testing Center is located in PSA-21 (basement). All our exams, except for Test 0 and the final, will be given in this room. For each exam you will need your ASU SunCard to be admitted. The hours are M-Th 10:30am to 8:45pm (last test handed our at 6:30pm). Time limit for each exam is 2hs.

Make-up policy: No make-up exams will be given without notification. Also, no late homework will be accepted for grading.
