Text:    Applied Partial Differential Equations, by  Richard Haberman,
                        Pearson Education, Inc., Fourth Edition, 2004
Prerequisite:   MAT 242 (or MAT 342) and MAT 274
Exams:            There will be two regular in class exams (100*2=200);
                         homeworks&quizzes  (100);
                         and a comprehensive final exam (150)
Grading Policy:
                         A = 90 - 100%
                         B = 80 - 89%
                         C = 70 - 79%
                         D = 60 - 69%
                         E = 0 - 59%
Material to be covered: Chapters 1-5,  10 will be covered



Course Description

Second-order partial differential equations, emphasizing Laplace, wave, and diffusion equations. Solutions by the methods of characteristics, separation of variables, and integral transforms.
